Winter Engagement Photos at Ottawa Arboretum
So, last week I shot some winter engagement photos at the Ottawa Arboretum with these two lovelies. It was calling form some rain and then snow. We were hoping to be able to finish the photo session before the rain came. However, soon after we started shooting the blasted rains began to fall. No matter. We shot the portraits anyway.
Ok, so I just gotta say that this was one of the most difficult engagement photo sessions that I’ve shot to date. It’s super hard to try and take photos while holding an umbrella in one hand, holding a camera in the other hand and trying to keep a plastic bag on said camera to keep it try, without it covering the lens. And to do all that while trying to compose and focus each picture. I’m just happy that I was able to do it, even though it was mighty awkward. For real.
These two were total troopers though. They had a couple of umbrellas with them, but they chose to do most of the photos without them. By the end, they were soaked. You can see it in the last few shots with Andrea’s soaked hair. All in all, the both of them had fantastic atitudes about the whole thing. Honestly, I think if they’re this fantastic shooting in the wet rain, they’re going to be wonderful to work with in the summer on their wedding day. I look forward to shooting their wedding at Cumberland Museum this July.
I’d love to hear from you if you’re engaged and looking for a photographer to shoot your wedding. Go to my contact page and send me a quick email asking for my wedding pricing guide and I’ll be sure to send it to you. Have a great day.
