Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue Wedding Ideas

Ottawa Wedding Photographer | Black Lamb Photography

I’ve been an Ottawa wedding photographer since 2008 and have seen my fair share of weddings and wedding details.  With that said, I want to help you stay with tradition and give you something old, new, borrowed and blue wedding ideas.

Something Old:  Many brides choose to include sentimental items from a parent, grandparent or someone close to them in their wedding.  This may include mom’s veil, grandmother’s wedding dress, heirloom jewellery, a photo or cake topper.  A lot of brides are also opting to wear shoes that they already have, instead of purchasing white shoes just for the wedding.

Something New:  For most brides, you’ll have this covered with your wedding dress and wedding ring.  However, you can also purchase a new veil, garter, shoes, jewellery, etc.ideas-for-something-blue-for-weddings-ottawa-photographer-black-lamb-photography-NEW

Something Borrowed:  When I got married, I borrowed my friend’s antique necklace.  One of my brides borrowed her friend’s wedding dress!  Be creative with what you borrow.  It could be as simple as borrowing jewellery or a purse.  Just make sure to return it in as good condition as you received it.ideas-for-something-blue-for-weddings-ottawa-photographer-black-lamb-photography-BORROWED-1

Something Blue:  There’s plenty of blue touches you can add to your wedding.  The bride could wear blue shoes, nail polish, garter, underwear or jewellery or have blue flowers in her bouquet.  The groom could wear blue socks, tie, vest, cuff links or boutonniere.  You can also add blue touches to your wedding decorations or cake.
