Robert and Bailey’s Stonefields Wedding
I’m so happy to present Robert and Bailey’s Stonefields wedding photos. You can’t even believe how much I was looking forward to shooting Robert and Bailey’s Stonefields wedding. Like, seriously! I’ve been wanting to shoot a Stonefields wedding for years and I finally got the opportunity. Yay! For anyone not familiar with Stonefields, they’re a gorgeous wedding venue not far from Ottawa, Ontario.
The ceremony was very touching. Over the years I’ve seen a lot of wedding ceremonies. Perhaps because I’ve seen so many weddings, it’s rare that I cry at them. However, I was teary eyed listening to Robert and Bailey give their wedding vows. It was very touching. So was their handfasting ceremony. For those not familiar with a handfasting ceremony, handy dandy Google comes to the rescue to give a precise definition: “A handfasting ceremony has its roots in ancient Celtic tradition, symbolizing the binding together of two people (and the origin of the phrase ‘tying the knot!’).”
Not only do these guys clean up well, but they totally rocked their wedding day photos. They both looked stunning. They also rocked their engagement photo session. Check out their Mackenzie King Estate engagement photos that we shot this past spring.
Super Mothers to the Rescue
I must mention a few things about Robert and Bailey’s wedding. First, let me just say that their mothers are AWESOME! Robert’s mother is a phenomenal baker. She made all of the desserts, including the wedding cake. Oh. my. goodness….the wedding cake was delicious! The layers were different flavours. I had a piece of lemon cake. It was the most lemony lemon cake I’ve ever had. This lady needs to start taking orders for cakes. I’m serious. And Bailey’s mom made the beautiful rustic decorations, like the wooden cake stands, the greenery and the cute paper decorations cut from book pages. Pinterest ideas were popping out all over the place. I loved it. Rustic weddings are my FAVOURITE kind of wedding style.
I gotta also mention that these guys and their friends know how to party. As you can see by the photos, they were going crazy while dancing to songs like, “The night Paddy Murphy Died” by Great Big Sea, “I’m Shipping Up To Boston” by Dropkick Murphys and “Home for a Rest” by Spirit of the West. My second shooter, Mara, and I had a total blast shooting their wedding.
This was a love story 15 years in the making. Their actual love story is too long to tell. However, I’m so happy for them that they finally made their way into the next chapter of their lives, together as husband and wife. Congratulations you two! May life smile sunshine down on you and bring you lots of happiness. You deserve it. 🙂
