Mackenzie King Estate Engagement Photos
Last week I met with this awesome couple to shoot their Mackenzie King Estate engagement photos. We had to originally reschedule due to a thunderstorm. Then on this particular evening, it did rain halfway through their session, but then it stopped and we continued on. Mackenzie King Estate made a gorgeous backdrop for the engagement photos. However, there were a tonne of nats everywhere. Like, as in a cloud of them hovering over our heads at all times where we were at the ruins. I would have to count to three so that they could swat the nats until I said three, then they’d pose properly for the photos. It was pure madness with those pests everywhere.
Mackenzie King Estate is such a pretty spot for photos. Located in the heart of Gatineau Park, it has such pretty scenery. And then the old ruins make it that much more spectacular. I don’t come up to Gatineau Park that often, but when I do it’s always so pretty. That reminds me that I should go there more often.
These two totally rocked their session. Not only did they deal with the bug infestation with humour, but they looked great in their shots too. I got so many fabulous shots of them, it was actually hard to narrow them down. I look forward to shooting their wedding at Stonefields this September. Yay for a Stonefields wedding! And I also have to mention that Bailey had her makeup professionally done by a makeup artist. That’s the way to go to look your best for engagement photos (or any other portrait session). She looked amazing. Robert cleaned up well too. Like I said, they rocked their session.
Update: You can check out their Stonefields Wedding Photos.
